LING GESAR SCHOOL
Ling Gesar School, with a present strength of eighty students is a primary school affiliated by the State Department of Education, Uttarakhand, India. The school was setup in the year 1983 to impart free and quality education to the underprivileged children without making any distinction on the basis of caste, gender or religion. Unfortunately the school was at the verge of shutting down because of lack of funds, dilapidating state of school campus and so forth. This is the point at which we under the mentorship of His Eminence Ngor Thartse Khen Rinpoche embraced the school so that the future of the students who are studying in this school does not imperil. We likewise feel it is an incredible opportunity and a privilege to save and run a school.
SCHOLARSHIP
We have initiated scholarship program for our students from the year 2017 with the title (Sumatra Foundation Scholarship). This Scholarship is honoured to the selected students by the committee of Sumatra Foundation along with the reference from the teachers of Ling Gesar School.
ACTIVITIES
We organised a school fete on november 14, 2017 on children days to raise funds for the school with support and dedication from all the teaching and non teachings stafff of Ling Gesar school and members of Sumatra Foundation. I thank all of them for supporting for good cause to educate and support underprivilige children. We hope to have this generous and continious support from all of you in future.
LGS Half Yearly Examination
Half Yearly Examination of Ling Gesar School was held from October 9- 172017. Result was declared on the 26th of October 2017 and indeed we are very happy that all the students have performed relatively good in their respective classes.
Measles & Rubela Vaccination
Initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and undertaken by Department of Education, Uttarakhand State, vaccination camp for Measles-Rubella (MR)was organised at Ling Gesar School on Monday, November 6, 2017.
We thank the Government of India for this generous step to eliminate measles and control Rubella across the nation and we wish every best for this initiative.
Parents Teachers Meeting (PTM)
Parents Teachers Meeting (PTM) was held at Ling Gesar School presided by school director and President of Sumatra Foundation Mr. Gonpo Tsering Bista, school head master Mr. Tsering Sangpo and all teaching staff with the parents of the children prior to the final examination to be held from 17th March 2018. The meeting was meaningful and successful with participation from most of the parents and we hope and pray that all the students of LING GESASR SCHOOL will do well and come out with colourful results.
